Mizoram KVI Board Annual Report 2010-2011

 

Chief Executive Officer’s Note

 

            The Mizoram KVI Board has taken a number of steps during the year 2010-2011 for the progress of Khadi and Village Industries in Mizoram. At the same time, there are some achievements and events which may be highlighted as below:-

1.         Pu R.L Rinawma IRS, Commissioner/Secretary of Industries, Government of Mizoram was appointed to look after the function of Mizoram KVI Board and took the charge of Chief Executive Officer from 1.3.2010 to 6.10.2010. After that Pu Tinkhandala. Jt.Chief Executive officer, MKVIB took the charge of Chief Executive officer from 7.10.2010.

2.         During the year 2010-2011, Board meeting was held three times, 146th meeting, 147th meeting and 148th meeting of the Board. The Board was trying to reduce liabilities and solved financial problem by means of cutting down M.R employees and auctioned seven numbers of Board vehicles.

3.         During the year under report, the Board celebrated its Silver Jubilee in the month of December 2010.

4.         Construction of approach road of MDTC, Zemabawk with black topping of the road and asphalting ground yard was completed by P.W.D during February 2011. The Board expressed its sincere gratitude to P.W.D, Government of Mzioram.

5.         Mizoram KVI Board was allotted site for District Office at Kolasib near D.C Office. The Board thanks to Land  Revenue & Settlement Department, Government of Mizoram.

6.         The Board was awarded Certificate of Appreciation for maintaining 2009 Green Mizoram plantation to the level of 100% survival by State level Committee on Green Mizoram under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram.

7.         Achievement of PMEGP 2010-2011:

            Due to intensive efforts of all stake-holders, bankers etc., the Implementing Agencies i.e KVIB, KVIC, DIC have been able to achieve the programme as below :-

10.       Rural Self Employment training Institute (RUSETI) :

                Deed of Agreement between State Bank of India and Mizoram KVI Board was signed on 12.5.2010. Accordingly, State Bank of India will use MDTC, Zemabawk for RUSETI for the time being before State Bank of India has its own land and building.

11.       Pu Lalnunenga, Driver expired on 29.8.2010 while in service.

12.       Multi-Disciplinary Training Centre (MDTC), Zemabawk produced 90 (ninety) nos. of trainees out of 8 (eight) disciplines (trade) with production value amounting to Rs.8.8 lakhs and sales value amounting to Rs.14.06 lakh during the year 2010-2011.

13.       Tung Seed Processing Centre, Saitual KVI Sub-Office purchased and collected Tung seeds 139.90 quintals at the rate of Rs.9/- per kg and produced 2670 kgs of Tung oil for sale to J.K Trading Company, Kolkata at the rate of Rs.75/- per litres.

14.       Shri.K.K.Gupta, DyCEO(NEZ), KVIC, Guwahati visited Mizoram on 14.11.2010. During his visit Mizoram, he participated R.B.I outreach programme at Sesawng on 15.11.2010. On 6.11.2010, he was appointed to inaugurate District Level PMEGP Exhibition at Mamit and he was accompanied by Chief Executive Officer MKVIB in all his programme.

15.       State Level PMEGP Exhibition was held under the sponsorship of KVIC and organized by Mizoram KVI Board at Dawrpui M.E School from 10th-20th December 2010. Shri H.Liansialova Minister of Agriculture Government of Mizoram inaugurated the exhibition on 10.12.2010. Shri K.Lianzuala MLA and Chairman of Mizoram KVI Board, Shri RK.Dhamija, State Director KVIC State Office, Aizawl and Shri Tinkhandala, Chief Executive Officer, Mizoram KVI Board  were present in the inauguration function.

 

 

OBITUARY OF PU LALNUNENGA

           Unfortunately, Pu Lalnunenga expired while in service as Driver. The Board felt deep sorrow following the untimely death of Pu Lalnunenga, Driver.

REPORT  OF KVI GROWTH CENTRE, SAITUAL DURING 2010-2011

 

Introduction :  The KVI Growth Centre is originally ‘Gur and Khansari Centre’ It is located at Saitual Rulkhai Ram (1 Km from Saitual Town) along Saitual to Phullen road.

              The Gur and Khansari plants were operated during 1990 to 2004, but due to wear and tears and raw material problems etc, the Plant could not function properly since April 2004. So, it was converted into Growth Centre

 

              The KVI Growth Centre area is 50094.50 sqm (37.43 bighas). It can be divided into four blocks viz. A,B,C & D

 

               Block ‘A’ is southernmost part and is reserved for construction of manager quarers.

 

            Block ‘B’ is Gur centre area where Chowkider quarters and staff quarters are located. Gur processing is going on since 1990, now it is functioning as demonstration and training purpose. One number of  Ginger and turmeric dryer was installed for demonstration and training purpose and one number of Gassifire dryer was shifted to MDTC on 22.7.2010

 

          Block ‘C’ is Khansari Plant area where sugar production has functioned from 1993 to 2004. Now, Tung oil extraction is functioning in this area. Maize Crusher (for Animal Feed ) and Wood making machine  (Band saw) are shifted from Block ‘B’ to ‘C’

              Block ‘D’ is bee – keeping farm where bee – keeping is functioned since 1999 till date

 

              Now at this stage, the Growth centre has the following activities :

  1. Ginger and Turmeric dryer for demonstration and training purpose.
  2. Gur making (demonstration and training purpose).
  3. Wood making machine (band saw) for bee – box making purpose.
  4. Maize crusher and mixer (animal feed) for demonstration and research basis.
  5. Tung oil extraction.
  6. Bee – Keeping

The Mizoram KVI Board District Office, Champhai :

The CHANEM Managing Committee, Champhai allotted Office for Mizoram KVI Board District Office at CHANEM building, Champhai occupying 1st floor Block No.B-42 to B-49. The Office as inaugurated on 7th August 2007 by the Deputy Commissioner, Champhai District.

CHANEM room rent :

As per CHANEM Managing Committee resolution No.11080/2/2009/UD&PA of dated 8th September 2010, all Department/Semi-Government Office occupying room at CHANEM building have to contribute Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred)only on monthly basis for employing Sweeper M/R to look after CHANEM building, which was approved by Chief Executive Officer, Mizoram KVI Board vide No.E.102/2007/MKVIB/79 of dated 12.11.2010. Office Godown at CHANEM building A-47 ground floor was allotted to ZTS store by UD & PA, Champhai District.

  1. State Level Awareness Campaign on Food Processing (ABFPI) was organized on 7.12.2010 at Kolasib by the Board in collaboration with M.H.I.P, Kolasib Branch. Awareness campaign was successful and beneficial for the participants especially women participants.

 

  1. District Level Task Force Committee was held three times under the chairman-

ship of Deputy Commissioner, Kolasib District on August 2010, January 2011

and March 2011.

REPORT OF DISTRICT FFICE, SERCHHIP 2010 – 2011

During the year 2010 – 2011, the following plans and programmes were undertaken by Special Cell, which is looking after the progress and development of Khadi & Village Industries Programmes in Serchhip District. Special Cell functions in the main office with man-power of one Officer , designated as District Village Industries Officer and three saff.

 

During 2010 – 2011, Special Cell monitors the performance of loan beneficiaries from Serchhip District under Bank Consortium and Normal Pattern Loan and also beneficiaries under PMEGP / REGP Scheme. Taking advantage of the recently opened new branch of Mizoram Rural Bank at Chhiahtlang, PMEGP Awareness Campaign was held and organized there at Chhiahtlang on 22.3.2011, which was well turned out. District Level Task Force Committee Review Meetings were held five times at D.C’s office, Serchhip and selection of PMEGP loan beneficiaries was also conducted. During the period under report, nine (9) units are assisted under PMEGP scheme in Serchhip District.

 

Loan recovery drive is also carried on in Serchhip District from units already assisted by the Board. As recorded by Loan Section, we have 312 beneficiaries under CBC and Normal Pattern Loan and 86 beneficiaries under REGP / PMEGP from this District
